About the Bug
Valerie, otherwise known as the Bug, found her way to the world of the Internet about eight years ago. Her name was created by a friend’s little sister who didn’t like her much, but the Bug decided it fit her, and, well, the rest is history.
The Bug is a non-traditional college student on the 14-year (or 15!) plan. She will eventually graduate and receive her degree—this December. The Bug is an English major and loves crafting stories—true stories, silly stories, parables, short stories, long stories; basically, if it’s a story, she loves crafting it. She also loves reading stories, but admits there isn’t as much time to read as much as she’d like due to all of the reading for school. But, since she is an English major, a lot of the reading is quite enjoyable. She is thrilled with the opportunity to be studying the classics, as she works to learn from the best and become a published author herself.
The Bug doesn’t only play with words, though. She also loves crafting with fabric and yarn. She is a skilled quilter and crocheter, but also dabbles in other crafts like embroidery and scrapbooking. She also combines her love of quilting and writing. For each quilt she makes, she writes a corresponding fairy tale. Some of those quilts and tales can be seen in the crafting section of this website.
The Bug dreams of being a published author, but knows the reality of that is probably off in the distant future, if ever. In the meantime, she plugs away at school and plans to return to business or marketing writing when she completes her degree.
When the Bug isn’t studying, quilting, or crocheting, she is surfing the Internet, watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns, cooking, baking, and playing with her dog, Toto.
